GEORGE TOWN: Public parks beneath local councils and more sports activities like bowling, swimming, snooker, Zumba and yoga lessons will be allowed to open from Monday (Feb 22).

State youth and sports committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said all sports and recreational sports held either in open or closed regions that do not contain physical contact are allowed.

“These sports might be allowed according with widespread working techniques (SOP) and all activities must be achieved by means of adhering to one to 3 metres of physical distancing.

“All sports centers and premises allowed to open need to observe the operating hours from 6am to 10pm or in step with the hours set by the local councils, ” he said in a assertion on Sunday (Feb 21).

Meanwhile, the parks to be able to open beneath the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) include the Youth Park and Metropolitan Park.
