Baby Driver Movie Review
A
fresh-faced but highly skilled getaway driver who goes by the name of Baby is
obligated to work for crime boss Kevin Spacey (who now claims he can’t remember
forcing the young man to do anything).
Baby
is permanently plugged into his music to drown out the tinnitus he acquired in
a childhood accident, so it’s a good job he can lip-read when heist plans are
discussed.
A
nice guy at heart, Baby has a thing for his local diner waitress (she serves a
mean babycino) but of course has to do One Last Job before they can shoot down
the road. Guess how that goes?
It’s
a tad violent and the characters lack depth, but this is beautifully
choreographed and cut to the beat of the mostly 1960s and ’70s tracks. Above
all, it’s fun. 9/10
