Cat-astrophic? Lawyer Turns Into A Cat During Virtual Hearing After Accidentally Turning On Filter

by - February 12, 2021

Thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve had to move a lot of our daily activities such as meetings, classes, and workout sessions and even court hearings online.

And sometimes, making a small blunder can make you internet famous within hours.

“I’m not a cat”

A video of a virtual court proceeding went viral recently after what appears to be a formal, no-nonsense session turned into a hilariously cute one.

According to Reuters, county attorney Rod Ponton accidentally had a cat filter on during the 394th Judicial District Court in Texas on Zoom.

The hearing was attended by Judge Roy Ferguson and two other men.

As the poor lawyer accidentally turned on the cat filter, Ponton looks on nervously as his on-screen persona's eyes can be seen darting across the screen.

“Mr Ponton, I believe you have filter turned on in the video settings,” said the judge.

Ponton said his assistant was trying to turn off the filter.

“I’m here live, I’m not a cat,” he said.
